Insider ThreatAddressing the Challenges of Maturing an Insider Threat (Risk) Program
On May 10, 2019, the Software Engineering Institute's National Insider Threat Center (NITC) will host the 6th Annual Insider Threat Symposium, with this year's theme, "Maturing Your Insider Threat (Risk) Program." The purpose of the symposium is to bring together practitioners on the front lines of insider threat mitigation to discuss the challenges and successes of maturing their insider threat (risk) programs. You will have opportunity to learn from others how to move beyond the initial operating capacity of your program.
This event will be open to the Department of Defense, U.S. and international governments, and public-sector insider threat communities, with presentations and panel sessions from government, industry, and academia. We anticipate over 225 security professionals will attend, evenly split across industry and government, with no participation by the media. This will be an ideal venue for honest and open discussions about the challenges facing organizations as they attempt to stand up and improve insider threat mitigation programs.
Our mission at the NITC is to assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of effective insider threat programs by performing research, modeling, analysis, and outreach to define socio-technical best practices, to assist organizations in deterring, detecting, and responding to evolving insider threats.
