The TCSE’s Software Engineering Distinguished Education Award is presented annually for outstanding and sustained contributions to software engineering education. In selecting Mead for its 2015 Distinguished Education Award, the TCSE noted her many contributions to the field over the past 30 years. In particular, the committee cited Mead’s “energetic and enthusiastic involvement in founding the Conference on Software Engineering Education and Training (CSEE&T) and her leading role in the development of the IEEE-CS/ACM Master of Software Assurance Reference Curriculum.”
“It’s both exciting and humbling to receive this award,” said Mead. “I could not have done this without the support of many dedicated volunteers from the education community in both software engineering education and, more recently, in software assurance education. I’m especially appreciative for the support that I have received from SEI and sponsoring organizations such as Department of Homeland Security.”
