Free CERT Virtual Event to Help Organizations Operationalize Risk Management
Pittsburgh, Pa., January 13, 2014—How can leaders in government and private organizations have more confidence in their ability to withstand disruptive events? Experts from government, industry, and the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University will provide answers on January 23 in a free, daylong virtual event, CERT Operational Resilience: Manage, Protect, and Sustain.
This CERT web event will show how to use resilience models to operationalize risk management and solve hard problems in enterprise security. The CERT Cybersecurity Solutions team will highlight the use of model-based approaches to benchmarking, improvement, and ongoing measurement in government and critical infrastructure organizations. This will include tools such as the Department of Homeland Security-sponsored Cyber Resilience Review and the Department of Energy Electricity Sub-sector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (ES-C2M2).
Sessions will use presentations and case studies to discuss different approaches to operational resilience, organizational maturity, and how to be a shrewd consumer of cybersecurity models. The event will include a panel discussion where leaders in government and industry will discuss their experiences. Panelists will include participants from:
