Note: The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to August 18.

June 21, 2023—The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CERT Division recently opened its call for participation in FloCon 2024, the annual conference on data-driven security. Operational and data analysts, tool developers, researchers, security professionals, and others interested in data-driven security are invited to submit abstracts to FloCon’s submission website by August 4. FloCon will be held in person in Mobile, Alabama, January 9-11, 2024.

FloCon focuses on applying collected data to defend enterprise networks. Enormous amounts of data are collected from endpoints, on the wire, and in the cloud. The event’s participants will explore how to apply scalable analytics to this large-scale data to protect systems from cyber threats, both internal and external.

The theme for FloCon 2024 is “Situational Awareness: Beyond the Network.” Conference organizers are seeking submissions about novel uses of big data to address thorny security problems. Abstracts for presentations, posters, and demonstrations must describe the theory, creation, implementation, or operational use of data analysis to support the analytic processes and procedures of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. The strongest submissions will offer conference goers actionable insights, useful code, or new analytics to implement.
