Software Engineering Institute

The SEI Year in Review describes the accomplishments of the SEI during fiscal year 2009 (October 1, 2008, through September 30, 2009). This Year in Review highlights a few ways the SEI creates customer solutions across a spectrum of challenges in areas ranging from digital forensics and process management to acquisition and architecture. Current examples highlighted in this issue include:

• Working with the U.S. Army Software Engineering   Center, the SEI used semi-automated content analysis   to analyze requirements documents, test procedures,   and problem and change reports.
• The Research, Technology, and System Solutions   Program is leading efforts to create a concept lab to   demonstrate how social networking technology and   software engineering technology should be designed   and operated. 
• The Aerospace Vehicle Systems Institute reached a   milestone in FY2009, with the successful completion   of a proof of concept demonstration of technology for   the System Architecture Virtual Integration initiative by   modeling the use of the industry standard Architecture   Analysis and Design Language.
• Northrop Grumman took advantage of the CERT   Insider Threat team's expertise to understand short-term   risks, address those risks, and develop a long-term   strategy by applying the Insider Threat Assessment Tool. 

The report also presents information about the SEI, its staff members, and its organization, including publications, demographics, technology-transition activities, and funding data.
