Abstract

DevOps is a buzzword in the Department of Defense, but to what end? Is that buzzword a methodology, a capability, hype, or a means to deliver national security capabilities at the speed of relevance? As leaders develop programs and implement the concepts of DevOps how do we drive meaningful value to the end user?

In his current role, he leads software development, integration, testing, digital infrastructure development, cyber security, and digital transformation for an ACAT 1 equivalent weapon system program. He was previously the Branch Chief for Advance Warfighter Communications at the DAF RCO supporting Air Force and Department of Defense programs. Lieutenant Colonel Hocking received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2006 and holds a graduate degree from the University of Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel Hocking’s assignments include Afghanistan Contingency Operations, Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Academy faculty, and Headquarters Air Force.
