Tom Merendino

Tom Merendino is a member of the Enabling Mission Capability at Scale (EMCS) directorate within the SEI's Software Solutions Division (SSD).
His primary experience includes engineering of systems software architectures and spans the full product life cycle. Tom’s experience spans systems that incorporate real-time embedded software and hardware, including integration of both newly designed and Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) components.
Since joining the SEI in 2004, Tom’s accomplishments include assessing DoD acquisition program plans, software architectures and designs for acquiring software intensive and real-time embedded systems. He provides guidance, recommendations and feedback to technical/program leadership of the sponsoring acquisition program offices. Tom has served as the SEI Technical Lead in support of several acquisition programs for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Battle Management Command & Control (BMC2) and Satellite Ground System platforms
Prior to joining the SEI in 2004, Tom compiled over 26 years’ experience leading the engineering and development of commercially successful products used within mission / performance critical computer communications and networking environments. He has held positions of Senior Project Engineer at Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Director of Software Development for Ericsson’s (previously Marconi) ASX4000 ForeThought switch software, and Vice President of Engineering at Beall Technologies, Inc.
