SCSS 2019: DoD Technology Leaders to Address Cloud Computing Challenges

If you want to get a handle on the emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of cloud computing, plan to attend SCSS 2019: Benefits and Risks of Cloud Computing on September 10 and 11 in Arlington, Va. This fall’s Software and Cyber Security Symposium brings together a wide array of experts to discuss a range of issues important to professionals operating in the cloud environment.
Keynote speakers, Leonel Garciga, U.S. Army Director of Information Management, HQDA-DCS-G2, and Jane Rathbun, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Navy for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Information Operations and Space, will address the DoD’s challenge of balancing huge cost savings and operational efficiency with the dilemma of securing data in a cloud-based environment.
In addition to these keynote presentations, SCSS 2019 will feature
- an expert panel discussion on cloud migration challenges in DoD and federal environments
- a discussion of best practices for cloud computing
- a talk addressing the common causes of failed migrations
- a mini-tutorial on edge computing
There is no charge to register for the symposium on September 10. Attendees may also register for half-day tutorials on related topics. The tutorials, which are free to government employees, will take place Wednesday, September 11.
