Abstract

The IDEALSM (Initiating, Diagnosing, Establishing, Acting, and Learning) model is an organizational improvement model that serves as a roadmap for initiating, planning, and implementing improvement actions.

The Patterson-Conner change management concept (Contact Awareness Understanding Trial use adoption and InstitutionalisatiON) is the set of practices and factors related to organizations selecting, deploying, and sustaining the use of new ideas and technologies.

IDEAL -CAUTION is a blended approach, combining standard IDEALSM methodology with Patterson-Conner organizational change management concepts to align the process improvement initiatives with business objectives and manage organizational changes effectively.

Please note that current and future CMMI research, training, and information has been transitioned to the CMMI Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University.
