The SEI has developed an approach for organizations to transition to zero trust that is supported by the application of the mission engineering process. In this presentation, the author provides a brief description of zero trust security and discusses the current set of guiding documents for implementing zero trust. The author also discusses how zero trust assessments help evaluate zero trust implementations and tradeoffs. Finally, the author discusses the need to develop acquisition guidance to help build in zero trust considerations during the development process.
