Mahmoud Shabana
Mahmoud El-Sayed Shabana is an artificial intelligence security researcher in the CERT Division at the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute. His research interests include reverse engineering, malware analysis, and adversarial machine learning.
Before coming to the SEI, Shabana was a reverse engineering intern at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) with a focus on embedded systems and ML tool development. Prior to APL, Mahmoud worked as a software engineer at Broadridge Financial Solutions developing APIs for their Foreign Exchange & Liquidity software.
Shabana earned a BS and MS in software engineering from Monmouth University, as well as an MS in cybersecurity from New York University.
